Job summary

Salt Digital Recruitment is seeking a Systems Analyst based in Stellenbosch, Cape Town for a 6-month contract. The role focuses on linking business requirements with IT solutions and includes responsibilities across the SDLC, from design to support.

The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of experience in systems analysis or software development, proven skills in system integration, and exposure to technical leadership. Candidates will enjoy collaborative engagement within a cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience in Systems Analysis / Systems Design / Software Development or similar.
• Strong experience in system integration and automation.
• Proven experience working in cross‑functional, technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse, and document complex business and system requirements.
• Design system architecture, integrations, and technical solutions aligned to business needs.
• Develop and support automation and integration components (APIs, services, etc.).
• Create technical test cases and perform unit testing.
• Provide system support (L1‑L3) and ensure SLA adherence.
• Monitor system performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead stakeholder engagement, ensuring alignment on priorities, risks, and delivery.
• Support go‑live activities and post‑implementation optimisation.

Skills

Strong SQL (MySQL / Microsoft SQL Server)

API integration (REST, SOAP, Web Services)

Understanding of system architecture and design

Experience with Jira and Confluence

Exposure to programming languages (Java, C#, Python)
