Job summary

Amazon Commercial Services (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd in Cape Town seeks a Strategic Supply Chain Manager to lead inventory planning and end-to-end supply chain initiatives, driving improvements that enhance customer experience, margins and turns.

You will build scalable systems, work with vendors, extract and analyze data, and influence cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

4+ years of supply chain, inventory management or project management experience.
Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience.
Experience in Excel or SQL.
Knowledge of the principles of statistical inventory control.
Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
Experience working with complex data sets.

Responsibilities

Identify and deliver operational improvement opportunities around buying and demand planning.
Monitor and identify opportunities to improve key supply chain metrics such as Out of Stock rate, Overstock Rate, Total Inbound Lead Time, Delivery Speed, and Confirmation/Fill Rates.
Share supply chain insights and contribute to business reviews for Senior Leadership (verbal and written).
Identify opportunities to optimize our supply chain cost structure and profitability through vendor engagement, project management, and collaboration with partner teams on system improvements.
