The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, and delivery timelines for significant capital investments. Working from any location, you will play a critical role in supporting major projects across the country. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for capital equipment, plant machinery, and construction materials.
• Conduct in-depth market intelligence gathering to identify leading suppliers and emerging technologies in the capital goods sector.
• Lead complex negotiations for high-value capital purchases, ensuring optimal terms and conditions.
• Manage the entire sourcing lifecycle, from needs assessment and supplier selection to contract award and ongoing performance management.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Project Management, and Finance teams to align sourcing activities with project requirements and financial objectives.
• Develop and maintain robust supplier relationships, fostering partnerships that ensure reliability and innovation.
• Mitigate supply chain risks associated with capital goods procurement, including lead times, geopolitical factors, and quality control.
• Analyze total cost of ownership (TCO) for capital expenditures and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and relevant industry regulations.
• Prepare detailed reports on sourcing activities, market trends, and supplier performance for senior management.

Requirements

• Masters degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a strong emphasis on capital goods.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale capital expenditure procurement projects.
• Expertise in negotiation, contract law, and financial analysis related to procurement.
• Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency with advanced procurement software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools.
• Experience working in a remote-first environment is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have the legal right to work in South Africa.
