Job summary

Wabtec SA in Gauteng seeks an experienced Sourcing Manager to lead local and international procurement, localization efforts, and contract management. You will partner with Engineering, SQE, and Production to drive cost effectiveness, quality, and on-time delivery.

The role focuses on developing sourcing strategies, supplier performance, and deflation achievement, while ensuring compliance with customer contracts and SEIFSA formulas. Fluency in English required.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of commercial sourcing management experience in steel fabrication/manufacturing.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications and communicate with suppliers.
• Proven ability to negotiate and manage contracts, amendments, and addendums.
• Experience with localization and supplier development in manufacturing environments.
• Strong analytical skills and supplier relationship management.

Responsibilities

• Lead local and international sourcing strategies and supplier consolidation.
• Develop and execute localization calculations and cost modeling.
• Manage supplier performance, including quality and delivery.
• Negotiate contracts and amendments, including back-to-back with customer contracts.
• Monitor breathing performance against OTD and deflation targets.
• Capture and report local content and localization progress.
• Coordinate with Engineering and SQE to ensure product requirements.
