Job summary

Absa Bank Limited is seeking a high-performing Relationship Executive for Small Business (FAIS) to grow and manage a portfolio of low to medium complexity commercial banking clients. You will lead new business origination, cross-selling, and deliver exceptional client experiences while coordinating with credit, product and service teams.

You will analyse financial statements, assess credit needs, and drive portfolio profitability while meeting growth and retention targets.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience as a Business Banking Relationship Manager with top sales performance and a portfolio of 150+ clients
• 5+ years in client-facing, target-driven financial services roles (banking preferred)
• Strong understanding of SME/commercial banking, credit processes, and financial analysis
• Bachelor’s degree in Business/Commerce/Management Studies (Honours advantageous)

Responsibilities

• Grow and optimise a portfolio of Small Business clients through new business origination and cross-selling.
• Build strong, trusted client relationships and serve as the client’s main contact for all business banking needs.
• Drive portfolio profitability while meeting sales, growth, and retention targets.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including credit, product, and service stakeholders to deliver end-to-end client solutions.
• Manage portfolio risk by ensuring compliance with regulatory and credit requirements (FICA and NCA).
• Analyze financial statements and make sound credit recommendations.
• Deliver high-standard client service aligned to the Small Business CVP.
