Job summary

WSP is seeking a dynamic Lead Project Manager to drive key business development efforts within the Power and Energy sector in Johannesburg. The role focuses on providing strategic leadership, governance, and expert oversight of project performance across high-value energy programmes.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, shape controls strategies, and contribute to client advisory and work-winning activities, while promoting a safe and compliant delivery culture.

Qualifications

• Experience leading multidisciplinary project controls teams.
• Strong client-facing and senior stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to define and govern project controls standards and assurance frameworks.
• Mentor senior project controls professionals and support capability development.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Project Controls Technical Authority within the Power and Energy business, providing strategic leadership, governance, and expert oversight of project and programme performance.
• Provide expert oversight and approval of baselines, forecasts, and performance reporting.
• Lead resolution of complex project controls challenges related to recovery, re-baselining, and performance risk.
• Contribute to work-winning and proposal development, including controls strategies and delivery models.
• Mentor senior project controls professionals and support capability development.
