Job summary

Henry Schein South Africa is seeking a Senior Purchasing Leader to drive procurement strategy and manage the ZAF Purchasing Teams. You will develop KPIs, oversee supplier relationships, and focus on cost reductions while improving service levels.

With extensive experience in international procurement and ERP systems, you will lead a performance-driven team, collaborate across departments, ensure compliance and budget controls, and contribute to sustainable profitability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years Purchasing experience within an international company at senior management level.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the ZAF Purchasing Teams.
• Develop regular reporting with Key Performance Metrics for supply chain management.
• Drive profit improvements, service levels and personal growth within the team.
• Maintain supplier details and price information on the system.
• Optimize inbound freight costs to reduce supply chain expenses.
• Review and improve processes to realize efficiencies and cost savings.
• Develop supplier relationships and implement performance measurements.
• Maintain supplier quality agreements and internal procurement standards.
• Foster cross-department collaboration to promote professional purchasing practices.
• Communicate with stakeholders to address business needs and objectives.
• Implement and maintain budgetary controls under senior guidance.
• Ensure compliance with quality systems, Sarbanes-Oxley and regulatory requirements.
• Develop team members' skills to meet business objectives.
• Participate in special projects as required.
• Support the business to reduce high stock levels.
