Job summary

Brace Able Manufacturing in Durban seeks an experienced Senior Purchasing/Procurement specialist to manage end-to-end procurement of raw materials, components and related services. You will drive supplier negotiations, contract management, cost reductions and BB-BBEE compliance, ensuring on-time delivery, optimal stock levels and alignment with budgets.

Build strong internal partnerships, develop local suppliers for localisation, and implement procurement initiatives toward annual targets.

Qualifications

• 5 years experience in Purchasing, Procurement or a Commercial environment.
• Automotive and/or Steel industry experience advantageous.
• OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience; proven supplier negotiations and cost reduction abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of raw materials, consumables and services within budgets.
• Gather requirements from internal departments and ensure timely procurement.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, payment terms and SLAs with suppliers.
• Manage supplier contracts and monitor compliance with terms and conditions.
• Monitor supplier performance against quality, cost and delivery requirements.
• Ensure alternative/second-source suppliers for critical materials to minimise downtime.
• Monitor inventory levels and incoming logistics to ensure material availability.
• Identify cost-saving initiatives to support margin improvement.
• Develop local suppliers to support localisation and BB-BBEE objectives.
• Prepare procurement reports and maintain records.
