Brace Able Manufacturing in Durban seeks an experienced Senior Purchasing/Procurement specialist to manage end-to-end procurement of raw materials, components and related services. You will drive supplier negotiations, contract management, cost reductions and BB-BBEE compliance, ensuring on-time delivery, optimal stock levels and alignment with budgets.
Build strong internal partnerships, develop local suppliers for localisation, and implement procurement initiatives toward annual targets.
Manage the procurement of raw materials, consumables and services in accordance with operational requirements and approved budgets. Ascertain purchasing requirements from internal departments and ensure timely procurement. Negotiate purchasing contracts, pricing, payment terms and service level agreements with suppliers. Manage supplier contracts and monitor compliance with agreed terms and conditions. Monitor supplier performance against quality, cost and delivery requirements. Ensure appropriate alternative/second-source suppliers are available for critical materials and services to minimise supply interruptions. Monitor inventory levels and incoming logistics to ensure material availability and minimise production downtime. Develop and implement cost reduction and cost-saving initiatives to support margin improvement. Identify opportunities for improved supplier pricing, payment terms and overall procurement efficiencies. Ensure supplier lead times are aligned with production and maintenance requirements. Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers. Identify and develop local suppliers in support of localisation objectives. Drive preferential procurement initiatives in support of the Company''s B-BBEE objectives. Monitor and report preferential procurement spend against agreed targets. Support procurement from qualifying EME, QSE, Black-Owned and Black Women-Owned suppliers. Ensure supplier documentation, including B-BBEE information, is maintained and up to date. Identify and implement procurement initiatives that contribute to the Company''s strategic and annual procurement targets. Prepare and maintain relevant procurement reports, analyses and records. Ensure procurement activities comply with Company policies, procedures and applicable legislation.
Relevant qualification in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
5 years'' experience in Purchasing, Procurement or a Commercial environment. Experience within the Automotive and/or Steel industry will be advantageous. Minimum 3 years'' experience within an OEM or Tier 1 supplier environment. Proven experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost reduction. Experience with preferential procurement and B-BBEE requirements will be advantageous.
