Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Plantation Manager to oversee operations in Polokwane. The role focuses on maximizing crop yields, sustainable practices, and efficient resource use, with leadership of a diverse team and strong data-driven decision making.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field, 8+ years in plantation management, and a track record in crops relevant to the Limpopo region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or related field is required.
• Minimum 8 years of plantation management or large-scale farming experience.
• Experience with crops relevant to Limpopo region (e.g., citrus, maize, nuts).
• Strong leadership, team management and communication skills.
• Proficiency in agricultural planning software and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement long-term strategic plans for plantation operations.
• Oversee cultivation activities including land prep, planting, irrigation, fertilization, and pest management.
• Recruit, train and supervise plantation staff, ensuring safety and productivity.
• Monitor crop health and performance; make data-driven yield improvements.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainable farming practices.
• Manage budgets, control costs, and maintain operational records and reports.
