Job summary

Level Up - Your Talent Partner is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager for a hands-on leadership role in Barberton, Mpumalanga. You will lead the procurement function, balance cost optimisation with ensuring production-critical materials and services are available, and work closely with Mining, Engineering, Plant, Finance and Stores.

You will develop strategies, manage supplier performance, negotiate terms, and ensure compliance with procurement policies while mentoring a procurement team

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Commerce or related field.
• Minimum 5 years procurement or supply-chain experience, including supervisory or management responsibility.
• Experience in mining, engineering, construction or other heavy industrial environment is essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with operational and financial objectives.
• Manage sourcing, evaluation, negotiation and appointment of suppliers and service providers.
• Obtain, evaluate and manage quotations and tenders per procurement procedures.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, service levels and contracts.
• Manage supplier contracts and SLAs; monitor performance and compliance.
• Ensure availability of production-critical materials, equipment, consumables and services.
• Collaborate with Mining, Engineering, Plant, Finance, Stores and others to determine requirements.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or operations.
• Maintain procurement records and ensure expenditure stays within budgets.
