Job summary

Hire Resolve's client, a mining company in the North-West region, seeks an experienced Legal Manager to provide strategic legal leadership and safeguard mineral and corporate interests within a complex mining environment.

You will oversee legal, contractual, litigation and stakeholder risk management, including mining rights, permits, DMRE submissions, and governance across the operation.

Qualifications

• LLB degree and admission as attorney in SA; legal practice background in mining preferred.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in mining with chrome/PGM experience.
• Experience with MPRDA applications and DMRE engagement.
• Experience drafting and negotiating mineral or chrome ore off-take agreements.
• Expert knowledge of MPRDA, MHSA, NEMA, NWA and Mining Charter.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal leadership for the mining operation.
• Manage mining rights, permits, and regulatory submissions (MPRDA, DMRE).
• Draft and negotiate commercial and JV agreements.
• Manage litigation, disputes, and external counsel.
• Ensure compliance with POPIA, FICA, PAIA and company secretary duties.
