Job summary

Old Mutual Limited in Cape Town is seeking a Management Accountant within the Wealth Management Expenses team. You will handle month-end close, expense allocations, budgeting/forecasting, and management reporting, engaging with multiple stakeholders across the organisation on expense topics.

The role requires a BCom in accounting and at least 5 years in a management accounting role, IFRS 16/IFRS 2 experience, strong Excel, and the ability to deliver accurate analysis under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• BCom accounting or similar.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a Management Accounting role.
• IFRS 16 and Incentive Scheme (IFRS 2) experience required. IFRS 17 understanding beneficial.
• High proficiency in Excel skills required.
• Oracle Financials experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close ensuring validity, accuracy and completeness of transactions in the general ledger.
• Prepare complex journals (IFRS 2, IFRS16, Incentive schemes).
• Review and prepare monthly expense allocations across segments and understand IFRS17 methodology.
• Generate internal financial/management reports and commentary.
• Monthly balance sheet and income statement reconciliations with controls.
• Distribute budget variance reports to Exco with commentary.
