Placements24 is seeking a strategic Category Manager forIndirect Procurement in Sandton, South Africa. You will develop category strategies for non-production goods and services, lead RFx processes, and drive supplier performance and cost savings across IT, marketing, and facilities spend.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in SCM or related field, 5+ years in procurement with indirect spend, strong negotiation and analytics skills, and proven stakeholder management ability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (SCM, BA, or procurement).
• Minimum 5 years in procurement with focus on indirect categories.
• Proven track record in category strategy development and supplier negotiations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software, e-sourcing tools, and MS Office.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies for indirect spend areas.
• Lead RFx processes, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
• Manage relationships with indirect suppliers.
• Analyze spend data and market intelligence to identify cost savings opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and ethical standards.
