Job summary

CF Consulting is assisting an established logistics business with the appointment of a Finance Director to lead the finance function and set the strategic direction for finance within a commercially driven operating environment.

The successful candidate will be a CA(SA) with at least seven years in a senior finance leadership role, provide sound financial insight, strengthen governance and support business performance while partnering with the executive team in KwaZulu-Natal.

Qualifications

• CA(SA) qualification essential.
• At least seven years’ experience in a senior finance leadership role.
• Strong financial reporting, governance and technical accounting knowledge.
• Experience working within a group or multi-entity environment.
• Demonstrated ability to operate strategically while remaining commercially hands‑on.
• A stable career history and evidence of sustained performance.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• The maturity and initiative to work in a lean, entrepreneurial operating environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the finance function and provide strategic financial direction.
• Drive accurate, timely and meaningful financial reporting.
• Ensure strong governance, controls and compliance with group requirements.
• Support business strategy, planning, budgeting and performance management.
• Provide commercial insight to the executive team.
• Identify gaps in financial capability and implement practical improvements.
• Develop and empower a capable finance team.
• Ensure the finance function operates effectively without unnecessary reliance on the Finance Director for day-to-day execution.
• Partner with operational leadership to support sustainable business performance.
