Job summary

FirstRand Limited in Johannesburg seeks an Economic Analyst to support strategy development and execution across the group. You will coordinate strategic activities, synthesize information from diverse sources, and prepare Exco materials and governance dashboards.

You will review financial results, forecasts, and budgets, and conduct market research to benchmark against peers and best practice, collaborating with executives and teams to drive initiatives to completion.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification: Economics related degree.
• Preferred post-graduate degree (CA(SA) / CFA) for certain positions.
• At least 2 years as an Economic Analyst or similar role.

Responsibilities

• Drive growth by shaping and delivering strategy in partnership with executives and leadership teams.
• Project manage diverse strategic activities and ensure delivery of key objectives.
• Build relationships across teams to enhance delivery, collaboration and innovation.
• Plan, run and assist in strategy sessions and offsites; prepare strategy documents and presentations.
• Review and analyse financial results, forecasts and budgets for Exco reports and forums.
• Conduct local and international research on banking developments and benchmark against peers.
