Placements24 is seeking an experienced Distribution Centre Manager to lead a state-of-the-art facility in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will drive inventory control, order fulfillment, and staff management while ensuring safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness across all warehouse operations.

The role demands strategic leadership, strong budgeting skills, and a proven track record in high-volume distribution environments within logistics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in SCM, Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 10 years in warehouse/distribution centre management in Logistics & Warehousing.
• Strong leadership, team-building and decision-making skills.
• In-depth knowledge of WMS, inventory control and supply chain best practices.
• Excellent health & safety regulatory knowledge in warehouse environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the distribution centre's operations in Richards Bay, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage, train, and motivate a large team of warehouse staff to achieve performance targets.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Implement and maintain robust inventory management systems to ensure accuracy and minimize loss.
• Collaborate with procurement, transportation, and sales departments to ensure supply chain integration.
• Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Manage the distribution centre's budget and control operational expenses.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and champion adoption of new technologies and processes.
