Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a strategic Category Manager to oversee indirect spend categories in Randburg on-site. The role focuses on developing category strategies for IT, professional services, facilities and marketing, while driving cost efficiencies and value creation.

You will optimize supplier performance, lead RFPs and negotiations, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement with business needs.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Category Manager or in strategic sourcing focusing on indirect spend.
• Ability to develop and execute category strategies that deliver measurable results.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience managing complex contracts.
• Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in procurement analytics tools.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management for an office-based role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies for indirect spend areas to achieve cost savings and value.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance, and contract compliance within assigned categories.
• Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to identify best practices and opportunities.
• Lead complex sourcing events, including RFPs, RFQs, and supplier negotiations.
• Collaborate with business units to understand their requirements and provide expert procurement support.
• Monitor category spend, identify risks, and develop mitigation plans.
