Job summary

Jobtailor in Cape Town seeks an experienced payments-focused software engineer to develop modern solutions, automation, and interfaces with market infrastructure.

You will work in an Agile team, manage priorities on boards, design and deploy applications, and mentor teammates while ensuring robust payment platforms.

5 to 7 years’ experience working with Azure Integration framework, microservices, API and event-driven architecture, Microsoft .NET and API development.
Experience with iWay Service Manager and iWay Data Migrator advantageous.
Experience developing payment or bank interfaces advantageous.
Knowledge of Azure Integration framework, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, Oracle databases, iWay Software platform, Git and GitHub.
Advanced experience with standard software development tools such as Git and VSTS.
Good understanding and experience following test-driven development and continuous integration practices.
Experience working with a DevOps-oriented team.

Responsibilities

Develop modern solutions, process development, and automation to improve business process efficiencies.
Provide superior client digital services and support scaling of the operational model.
Work as part of a team using agile methodologies.
Manage team priorities and progress on agile boards.
Develop payment solutions interfacing with market infrastructure, SWIFT, and banks.
Administer, configure, and maintain payment platforms.
Design, prototype, develop, test, and deploy applications based on business requirements and agreed design patterns.
Develop Straight Through Processing solutions.
Design and develop database structures.
Optimize build and release processes.
Collaborate with customers, partners, and peers to identify requirements.
Break down large problems into smaller iterative steps.
Contribute to prioritization of the team backlog.
Select appropriate tools, methods, and design patterns.
Proactively improve processes and systems.
Provide guidance and training to team members and application/API consumers.
Assist in monthly maintenance and disaster recovery testing.
Maintain SDAL on VSTS and Kanban boards.
