Job summary

Responsibilities

Job description

We are currently looking for a Storeman to ensure accurate stock records, maintain an organised and safe storeroom, and ensure that stock is available when required to support the company's logistics and transport operations.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Previous experience working as a Storeman, Stores Assistant, or Stock Controller.
• Experience in a logistics, transport, warehouse, or workshop environment will be advantageous.
• Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel and stock control systems.
• Good numerical, record-keeping and organisational skills.
• A valid driver's licence may be advantageous, depending on operational requirements.
• Knowledge of vehicle spares, truck parts, tyres, lubricants and workshop consumables would be an advantage in a transport environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect and verify incoming stock, spare parts, tools and materials against delivery notes and purchase orders.
• Issue stock, tools and equipment to authorised employees and departments.
• Maintain accurate stock records and update the inventory management system.
• Conduct regular stock counts and assist with stocktaking and inventory reconciliations.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages, damaged goods and discrepancies to management.
• Ensure that all stock is correctly labelled, stored and easily accessible.
• Maintain proper documentation for all stock received and issued.
• Keep the storeroom clean, organised and compliant with health and safety requirements.
• Monitor the condition of tools, equipment and vehicle-related spare parts.
• Assist with ordering stock and following up on outstanding deliveries.
• Prevent stock losses, damage, theft and unauthorised issuing of materials.
• Liaise with suppliers, procurement, workshop staff and other departments.
• Ensure that all company procedures and inventory control policies are followed.
