Sappi is seeking a Storeman in Mpumalanga to ensure correct, undamaged, and timely delivery of equipment, with accountability for stock receiving, storage and maintenance. You will perform SAP-based receiving, binning, and material issuing, while upholding health, safety and quality standards.

Required: Grade 12 with Maths and Physical Science, at least 1 year in clerical/stores duties, SAP knowledge is advantageous, and a valid driver’s license.

Responsabilités

• Receive, inspect, and file materials according to SAP procedures.

• Maintain licensing for vehicles and machinery; support shift operations.

We are on the lookout for a Storeman to ensure all equipment is delivered to respective customers correctly, undamaged, and timeously, while taking full accountability for the efficient receiving, storage, and maintenance of all stock items.

As a Storeman, you will be responsible for:

Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality

• Risk & Safety Management: Create a safe work environment by identifying and managing day-to-day risks, conducting 60-second risk assessments when required, and adhering to all safety Best Practices (BPs), procedures, BBS practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Incident Reporting & Inspections: Immediately report all accidents, injuries, and fires to the Stores Supervisor or Safety Representative; conduct stores housekeeping walkabouts and inspections, taking prompt corrective action where needed.
• 5S & Environmental Compliance: Achieve and maintain 5S status across area of responsibility, ensuring waste bins do not overflow, and executing proper waste separation and disposal.

Stores Operations

• Receiving & Quality Control: Receive all materials strictly according to the receiving procedure and SAP process, performing simple quality checks on selected incoming materials.
• Binning & Inventory Management: Bin materials in correct SAP locations, perform daily material counts as required by the MRP Controller while issuing/binning, and ensure physical bin stock matches SAP records exactly.
• Material Issuing & Transport: Carefully and safely handle, transport, and issue materials according to standard procedures, delivering required materials directly to the plant.
• Storage Maintenance & Relocation: Relocate materials to new storage bins as required, execute scheduled materials maintenance activities, and maintain continuous stores security by strictly controlling and limiting access.
• Operational Readiness & Licensing: Obtain and maintain valid licenses to operate vehicles and machinery within the stores (including overhead cranes), and work shifts as needed to support operational demands.
• Supervisory Support: Perform additional relevant tasks and operational support as requested by the Stores Supervisor or Materials Manager.

Communication

• Plant Coordination: Coordinate effectively with plant personnel regarding the receiving, dispatch, and delivery of materials.

Administration

• After-Hours Logging & PPE Issuing: Accurately complete the after-hours delivery logbook daily and execute the daily after-hours issuing of PPE.
• Shift Handover: Complete and maintain the Shift Handover logbook to ensure seamless operational continuity across shifts.
