Job summary

The Building Company is hiring a Stock Controller in Brits to coordinate incoming stock and maintain optimal stock levels and range. You will oversee receiving, GRNing and merchandising processes and report on stock variances.

The role requires a Grade 12 or equivalent with stock control experience or related certificates, and may accept relevant skills programmes as alternatives. This is a permanent, on-site position with market-related pay.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with courses in stock control is preferred.
• Certificate options listed enable formal recognition of knowledge.
• Alternatively, several skills programmes may substitute formal certificates.

Responsibilities

• Check reports and ensure accuracy of stock records.
• Manage supplier returns and cycle stock counts.
• Maintain bin locations and monitor stock performance.
• Conduct stock takes and resolve variances.
• Run reports on stock-outs and no-stock situations.
• Provide variance data to the operator for decision making.

Job Description

• Checking reports
• Check cost of Stock-outs
• Manage Supplier returns
• Keep Cycle Counter up to date
• Validate stock variances
• Negative Stock clearance
• Maintain Bin Locations
• Investigate bad risk stock
• Stock take
• Run no stock, no demand report
• Run Deletion reports
• Ensure Existing Stock are binned
• Monitor stock performance
• Provide Variance Data to Operator
• Providing the Operator with stock variance data for the 8 weeks cycle every month

Job Requirements

• Grade 12
• 3 years stock control experience, alternatively
• Certificate in Retailing (NQF 5), or
• Certificate in Retail Operations Management (NQF 5)
• if no certificate then at least 3 of the following skills programmes
• Explain the factors that impact on the bottom line of a W&R unit
• Supervise implementation of loss control measures
• Supervise stock counts
• Replenish stock in a retail business
• Manage stock holding procedure in a wholesale and retail outlet
• Pick stock in a distribution centre
• Move, pack and maintain stock
• Receive stock into a distribution centre
• Count stock for a stock-take
• Dispatch stock from a distribution centre
