Job summary

Placements24 is partnering with a prominent university in Bloemfontein to recruit an Academic Advisor for STEM programs. You will guide students through course selection, degree requirements, and graduation processes, helping them map a path to academic success and future careers.

In this on-campus role, you will monitor progress, provide career exploration guidance, and liaise with faculty and campus resources to support a diverse student body.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or related area.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Experience in academic advising, student services, or counseling.
• Strong knowledge of STEM disciplines and academic pathways.
• Excellent communication, listening, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.

Responsibilities

• Advise students on degree requirements, course selection, and graduation procedures for STEM programs.
• Monitor student academic progress and identify students needing support or intervention.
• Provide guidance on career exploration, internships, and graduate school applications related to STEM.
• Liaise between students, faculty, and university resources.
• Maintain accurate student records and document advising interactions.
