Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Academic Advisor to guide STEM students at our Benoni campus. You will help students navigate courses, plan degrees, and connect them with campus resources to support success and retention.

This role requires proactive advising, confidentiality, and excellent interpersonal skills to work with a diverse student population. A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, Education, Counseling, or a related area is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, Education, Counseling, or related area.
• Experience in academic advising, counseling, or student support services is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of degree requirements and academic planning strategies.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive academic advising to undergraduate STEM students.
• Assist students in course selection, degree planning, and understanding academic policies.
• Monitor student progress and intervene with students facing challenges.
• Connect students with tutoring, career services, and counseling.
• Maintain accurate student records and participate in outreach activities in Benoni.
