Job summary

Abbotts High School JHB South seeks a dynamic STEAM Teacher and Robotics, Coding & Engineering Specialist to deliver an integrated project-based STEAM curriculum aligned with IEB standards. You will guide learners in applying Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics to real-world challenges using LEGO Education, Scratch and Python.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree (NQF Level 7) with a PGCE or B.Ed.
• Valid SACE registration and police clearance.
• 2–5 years teaching in Technology, Robotics, STEAM or related disciplines.
• Experience with IEB curriculum advantageous.
• Hands-on experience with robotics, coding and project-based learning.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver STEAM lessons aligned to IEB standards and Technology outcomes.
• Teach robotics and coding using LEGO Education, Scratch and Python.
• Lead innovation labs and makerspaces; ensure safety and maintenance.
• Assess student work with authentic projects and provide feedback.
• Coordinate STEAM clubs and participation in competitions and expos.
