Job summary

Abbotts High School in Johannesburg seeks a STEAM Teacher with a dual focus on Robotics, Coding and Engineering. You will design and deliver integrated, project-based STEAM curricula, guiding students through hands-on activities that develop critical thinking, digital literacy and real-world problem solving.

The role includes teaching LEGO Education–based robotics, Scratch, Python and other tools, plus managing the Innovation Lab and making a strong contribution to enrichment programmes.

Qualifications

• Strong grounding in STEAM education and project-based learning.
• Experience delivering robotics, coding and engineering design.
• Ability to integrate LEGO Education platforms, CAD, 3D printing and laser cutters.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver interdisciplinary STEAM experiences aligned to IEB standards.
• Lead robotics, coding and engineering projects and competitions.
• Manage innovation lab equipment and makerspace safety.
• Assess student learning through authentic STEAM assessments.
