Job summary

Aggreko plc in South Africa is seeking a Statutory Compliance Specialist to ensure IFRS/local GAAP reporting, audits, and tax compliance are delivered accurately and on time.

You will work with finance teams, external auditors, tax advisors, and stakeholders to maintain integrity of financial reporting while driving process improvements.

This role requires qualified accounting credentials and a proactive, deadline-driven mindset in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with IFRS and local GAAP knowledge.
• Experience in statutory accounting, financial reporting, and external audits.
• Strong stakeholder management and proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Prepare annual statutory financial statements in line with IFRS and local GAAP requirements.
• Ensure statutory accounts reconciled to management accounts, ERP balances.
• Prepare disclosures, reconciliations, schedules, and statutory working papers.
• Coordinate year-end and periodic statutory reporting to meet deadlines.
• Act as primary contact for external auditors throughout the audit.
• Coordinate audit requests and resolve queries with finance teams.
• Support Company Secretarial with annual returns and regulatory filings.
• Coordinate tax compliance across entities, incl. transfer pricing documentation.
• Maintain tax compliance calendars and monitor deadlines.
• Support automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
