Job summary

NOV Rig Technologies in Gqeberha is seeking a Standardisation Technical Writer to develop and revise documentation for engineering teams and shop floor users.

You will work with engineers to capture requirements, author quality plans, inspection procedures, and manuals, and ensure compliance with NOV standards and relevant regulations. The role involves daily document control tasks and ongoing process improvements.

Qualifications

• Engineering-related qualification or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, schematics, specifications, and user manuals.
• Experience with document control and document management systems (DMS).

Responsibilities

• Communicate with engineering experts to understand needs and objectives.
• Collate and organize drawings, specifications, manuals, and client requirements.
• Author clear documents including quality plans, condition assessments, and inspection procedures.
• Verify documents comply with legislation, industry and NOV standards.
• Maintain document control and approval workflows.
• Identify issues and propose process improvements.
• Provide progress updates to supervisor regarding risks and opportunities.
• Perform other tasks as required by business needs.
