Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Sports Facilities Manager to oversee the operations and maintenance of their extensive sports facilities in Randburg, Gauteng . This hybrid role requires a proactive individual who can manage on-site operations effectively while also engaging in strategic planning and remote coordination. You will be responsible for ensuring that all facilities, including fields, courts, gymnasiums, and support areas, are maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and presentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facility management, budget oversight, and staff supervision. You will play a crucial role in ensuring a positive and safe environment for athletes, staff, and visitors, while optimizing resource allocation and operational efficiency. This position offers a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to manage premier sports venues.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of all sports facilities, including scheduling, maintenance, and cleaning.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for all equipment and infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Oversee a team of maintenance staff, groundskeepers, and facility assistants, providing guidance and performance management.
• Manage the departmental budget, including cost control, procurement, and financial reporting.
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and repair work.
• Plan and execute facility upgrades, renovations, and capital improvement projects.
• Develop and enforce facility usage policies and procedures.
• Respond to facility emergencies and ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Liaise with sports leagues, event organizers, and other user groups to meet their facility needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Sports Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in sports facility management, with demonstrated experience in operational and strategic roles.
• Proven experience in budget management and financial planning.
• Strong knowledge of building maintenance, groundskeeping, and safety regulations.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule, balancing on-site responsibilities with remote strategic planning.
• Proficiency in facility management software and standard office applications.
• Experience in project management for facility upgrades and renovations.
