About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent Sports Facilities Manager to oversee the operational excellence and maintenance of their premier sports venues in Pretoria . This role demands a hands-on approach to ensuring that all facilities meet the highest standards of safety, functionality, and participant experience. You will be responsible for managing budgets, staff, and maintenance schedules to support a wide range of sporting activities and events within the Gauteng region. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with extensive experience in facility management and a strong understanding of sports venue operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of multiple sports facilities, ensuring they are safe, clean, and well-maintained.
• Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance and repair schedules for all facility assets, including fields, courts, gyms, and support infrastructure.
• Oversee a team of maintenance staff, groundskeepers, and operational personnel, providing direction and performance management.
• Manage operational budgets, controlling expenses and seeking cost-saving efficiencies without compromising quality.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
• Coordinate with event organizers and sports leagues to meet their facility requirements and ensure successful event execution.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sports Facilities Manager or in a similar facilities management role.
• Strong knowledge of sports venue operations, including field maintenance, equipment management, and safety protocols.
• Demonstrated experience in staff supervision, budget management, and vendor relations.
• Excellent understanding of building systems, maintenance procedures, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies.
• Certification in facility management or a related field is a plus.
