Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous and hands-on Sports Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to manage upkeep and readiness of sports venues in Polokwane. Lead a maintenance team, oversee preventative maintenance, and respond to repair needs to keep facilities safe and ready for athletes, staff, and visitors.

You will supervise daily activities, implement maintenance programs, manage inventory and budget, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, with flexibility to work evenings

Qualifications

• Proven experience in facilities maintenance, especially sports venues.
• Minimum 3 years supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, groundskeeping, and equipment maintenance.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use maintenance management software (CMMS) is a plus.
• Strong health and safety understanding.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

This role is essential for ensuring that all facilities within the Leisure & Sports sector are safe, clean, and in optimal condition for athletes, staff, and visitors. You will lead a maintenance team, oversee preventative maintenance schedules, and respond efficiently to repair needs, ensuring that all infrastructure meets the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, including scheduling, task delegation, and performance monitoring.
• Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for all facility equipment, grounds, and structures.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to facility operations.
