Absa Group is seeking a Senior System Analyst to join the DevOps-enabled team, translating business requirements into detailed technical specifications and user stories for full-stack, cross-system integration.
The role involves collaboration with architects, developers, and QA, ensuring traceable, testable requirements and production readiness. Banking domain experience highly valued.

Work as part of a DevOps team, leverage specialist analysis & testing tools, frameworks, techniques and practices to elicit, define and organize business requirements. Translate & document business requirements into user stories & specifications (Full Stack, Cross System) detailing integration points, business & associated risk / opportunities to be realised. And following this analysis, work collaboratively within squads during design & delivery activity including assuming responsibility for manual application testing processes, frameworks & outcomes.
Analyse, and validate business and system requirements. Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and user stories. Document functional, non-functional, integration, and data requirements. Ensure requirements are testable, traceable, and aligned to business objectives. Facilitate requirement workshops and solution discussions.
Analyse existing systems and identify solution options. Produce detailed system specifications and process flows. Define configuration and integration requirements. Collaborate with architects to ensure alignment with enterprise standards. Identify solution gaps and recommend remediation approaches.
Work closely with developers throughout the development lifecycle. Clarify requirements and resolve design issues. Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and reviews. Support implementation planning and release readiness activities. Ensure delivered solutions meet agreed business outcomes.
Define acceptance criteria and support test case development. Support SIT and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Validate system functionality against requirements. Investigate defects and support root cause analysis. Ensure appropriate solution quality before deployment.
Investigate production incidents and recurring system issues. Analyse root causes and recommend permanent fixes. Monitor solution performance and identify optimisation opportunities. Support change requests, enhancements, and system upgrades. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Bachelor's Degree in: Information Systems Computer Science Engineering Technology Related discipline / Solution Design Qualifications Preferred CBAP, CCBA or ECBA Agile or SAFe Certification TOGAF Foundation SQL or Data Analysis Certification Experience Essential 5 years experience in System Analysis, Solution Analysis 5 years experience in Software Development, preferrably Salesforce or nCino related Experience working within Agile and SAFe environments. Experience producing technical specifications. Experience working with developers and QA teams. Experience supporting UAT and production deployments. Preferred Banking or Financial Services experience. Experience with: Credit Systems Collections & Recoveries Platforms Salesforce nCino API Integrations Data and Reporting Solutions Technical Competencies System Analysis Solution Design Process Modelling Data Analysis API and Integration Analysis SQL and Data Querying Agile Delivery User Story Definition Root Cause Analysis Testing and Validation Stakeholder Management Behavioural Competencies Problem Solving Analytical Thinking Attention to Detail Communication Skills Stakeholder Engagement Collaboration Adaptability Accountability Continuous Improvement Mindset.
