Job summary

Parvana is seeking a seasoned Solution Architect in Cape Town to lead enterprise architecture initiatives for finance transformation. You will design APIs, middleware and event-driven connections, aligning with governance and security standards while engaging cross-functional teams globally.

You will translate complex concepts into business terms, drive architectural discipline, and guide delivery from design through deployment in a hybrid in-office/remote setup.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of IT Solution Architecture experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Experience with enterprise integration patterns including APIs, middleware and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with cloud-based architectures, especially Microsoft Azure.
• Proficiency with TOGAF or ArchiMate frameworks for governance and guardrails.
• Strong understanding of security, risk and regulatory compliance in financial sectors.
• Strategic thinker able to align architecture with enterprise objectives and identify gaps.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business language.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and document current as-is business operations and application landscapes.
• Develop architecture elements aligned with enterprise strategy and Finance transformation goals.
• Design robust integration patterns to ensure seamless connectivity with upstream/downstream systems.
• Produce high-quality artifacts conforming to Architecture principles and standards.
• Partner with Finance, Tech, Security and Data teams to elicit requirements and design implementations.
• Define strategies for data architecture, migration and governance to maintain quality and compliance.
• Act as the primary technical contact between internal teams and system integration partners.
• Lead identification, assessment and mitigation of architectural risks throughout projects.
• Socialize architectural decisions with governance forums and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Operate as delivery-embedded architect guiding design, build, test and deployment.

What you will be doing

• A relevant tertiary qualification would be beneficial (Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.)
• 7+ years of experience in IT Solution Architecture within large-scale enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns, including APIs, middleware, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with cloud-based architectures, with a specific focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Proficiency with enterprise frameworks such as TOGAF or ArchiMate to work effectively within established governance and guardrails.
• Strong understanding of security, risk, and regulatory compliance, particularly within financial and regulated industries.
