Job summary

ATS Client in Johannesburg is accelerating its digital transformation, shifting from hardware to a connected ecosystem of IaaS, SaaS and API‑led platforms for Southern Africa.

The role translates the digital vision into concrete designs, defines API and integration architecture, and drives governance, resilience and compliance through the SDLC.

You will optimize security, performance and extensibility, reduce technical debt, and ensure ISO 9001:2008‑compliant deployments across new infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Translate the digital vision into 3–4 comprehensive solution designs and technical specifications with attention to security, performance and extensibility.
• Design and oversee an end‑to‑end integration framework and API strategy that enables reuse across diverse business domains.
• Establish a review process for all technical deliverables to ensure traceability and architectural alignment with the long‑term target state.
• Lead architectural analysis for disaster recovery and system performance, reducing technical debt and obsolescence through proactive roadmap management.
• Facilitate 100% solution compliance with security, privacy and regulatory requirements for all new infrastructure deployments.

Their specialized digital innovation division is currently undergoing a massive evolution, moving beyond traditional hardware into a sophisticated ecosystem of IaaS, SaaS, and API‑led solutions.

Performance Objectives for Year One

In the Adlerian model, success is defined by what you do, not what you have. Here is what you will achieve in your first 12 months:

1. Vision to Execution: Within the first 90 days, translate the overall digital vision into 3-4 comprehensive solution designs and technical specifications that take security, performance, and extensibility into account.
2. API & Integration Architecture: Design and oversee the implementation of an end‑to‑end integration framework and API strategy that fosters the re‑use of existing components across diverse business domains.
3. Governance & Quality Assurance: Establish a review process for all technical deliverables throughout the SDLC to ensure 100% requirement traceability and architectural alignment with the long‑term target state.
4. Operational Excellence & Resilience: Lead the architectural analysis for disaster recovery and system performance, reducing technical debt and obsolescence at the solution level by at least 15% through proactive roadmap management.
5. Compliance by Design: Facilitate 100% solution compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements (ISO 9001:2008 standards) for all new infrastructure deployments.
