Job summary

Mecad Systems in Germiston is looking for a Mechanical Design Draughtsman to join our engineering team. You will create precise 2D and 3D designs using SolidWorks, focusing on sheet metal components up to 10mm thick and ensuring fluid dynamics considerations.

The ideal candidate is matriculated with a draughting qualification and demonstrates strong PC literacy, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Matric (National Senior Certificate) is required.
• Draughting Certificate Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Advantageous).
• SolidWorks proficiency with experience in sheet metal design.
• Knowledge of furnace systems (Advantageous).
• Strong PC literacy.
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of Fleet and SHEQ regulations (Advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D and 3D designs using SolidWorks.
• Work with sheet metal (up to 10mm thickness) to develop high-quality designs.
• Ensure designs align with fluid dynamics principles for optimal efficiency.
• Ensure all drawings meet project specifications and manufacturing requirements.
• Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to optimize designs.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for all design projects.
• Oversee fleet and SHEQ requirements for the company.
