Placements24 is seeking a Solar PV Project Developer to identify, assess, and secure new PV opportunities across Centurion and surrounding regions. You will manage the full development lifecycle from site identification and feasibility to land rights, permits, and interconnection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor''s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in solar PV project development or a similar renewable energy role.
• Proven success in originating, developing, and closing solar PV projects.
• Strong understanding of solar PV technology, energy markets, and project finance.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of South African land use regulations, permitting processes, and energy policy.
• Willingness to travel within the region and valid driver''s license.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess potential sites for solar PV projects, including technical and economic feasibility.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities and competitive landscapes.
• Negotiate and secure land leases, option agreements, and other property rights for project development.
• Manage the permitting process, including environmental assessments and local authority approvals.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, government agencies, utilities, and community leaders.
• Prepare compelling project proposals, financial models, and investment memorandums.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) teams to ensure project viability and alignment.
• Secure power purchase agreements (PPAs) and other off-take arrangements for developed projects.
• Stay informed about regulatory changes, market trends, and technological advancements in the solar industry.

Our client, a forward-thinking renewable energy company, is looking for a proactive and skilled Solar PV Project Developer to identify, evaluate, and secure new solar photovoltaic (PV) project opportunities across Centurion, Gauteng and surrounding regions. This role is crucial for expanding our client's solar portfolio and driving the transition towards sustainable energy solutions. You will be responsible for the entire development lifecycle, from initial site identification and feasibility studies to securing land rights, permits, and interconnection agreements. This position requires a blend of technical understanding, commercial acumen, and strong negotiation skills. Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in solar PV project development or a similar renewable energy development role.
• Demonstrated success in originating, developing, and closing solar PV projects.
• Strong understanding of solar PV technology, energy markets, and project finance.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in GIS tools, PVSyst, or similar solar assessment software is advantageous.
• Knowledge of South African land use regulations, permitting processes, and energy policy.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the region.
