Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a hands-on Solar PV Installation Supervisor to lead on-site installation teams in Mahikeng. The role ensures safe, efficient solar PV installations across residential, commercial, and industrial projects, with focus on quality and compliance.

You will read design plans, supervise crews, mentor junior installers, coordinate with project managers, and maintain on-site material control. A minimum NQF Level 4 or equivalent and 3 years of solar experience are required.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a hands-on and experienced Solar PV Installation Supervisor to lead their installation teams in Mahikeng . This role is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient installation of solar photovoltaic systems on residential, commercial, and industrial projects. You will ensure that installations meet quality standards, adhere to design specifications, and comply with all relevant safety regulations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in solar installations and proven leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide on-site installation crews for solar PV systems.
• Ensure installations are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
• Read and interpret solar system design plans, schematics, and specifications.
• Perform quality control checks throughout the installation process.
• Manage on-site inventory of materials and equipment, ensuring efficient use.
• Train and mentor junior installers, promoting best practices and safety awareness.
• Liaise with project managers and clients regarding site progress and any issues that arise.

Requirements

• Minimum of NQF Level 4 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, or a recognized solar installation qualification.
• At least 3 years of experience in solar PV system installation.
• Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role on installation projects.
• Strong understanding of solar PV components, wiring, and mounting systems.
• Knowledge of South African electrical codes and safety standards related to solar installations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
