Job summary

Network2 is seeking an experienced Operations Technician to oversee the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of solar PV plants in Gauteng to ensure optimal performance, safety, and regulatory compliance.

You will perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting, while monitoring performance with SCADA and other tools, and coordinating with contractors to keep sites running smoothly.

Qualifications

• National Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• 3–5 years’ experience in solar PV operations and maintenance.
• Experience with SCADA systems and performance monitoring tools.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on solar PV systems.
• Monitor plant performance using SCADA and other monitoring tools.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, performance data, and spare parts inventory.
• Support plant upgrades, modifications, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
