Job summary

Mycareercraft in Bloemfontein, South Africa seeks a hands-on Solar PV Technician to keep energy systems running at peak performance. You will diagnose faults, perform repairs across solar installations, inverters, batteries and electrical equipment, and replace defective parts as needed.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 minimum

• Proficient with diagnostic tools and testing equipment

Responsibilities

• System Maintenance & Repairs: faults and repairs across solar PV installations, inverters, batteries and electrical equipment; swap defective components.
• Parts & Documentation: sourcing replacement parts and keeping service reports up to date.
• Technical Guidance: interpreting drawings and manuals; producing training materials or demonstrations.
• Customer & Team Support: assist clients and collaborate within a technical team; work independently when required.
• Safety & Compliance: uphold electrical safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Job description

• Between one and two years of experience in a technical repairs, electronics, or support environment
• Practical exposure to solar PV systems and electrical fault-finding

Duties

In this hands‑on role, you'll be the go‑to expert for keeping solar energy systems running at their best. Your day‑to‑day will involve:

System Maintenance & Repairs Identifying faults and carrying out repairs across solar PV installations, inverters, batteries, and general electrical equipment, including swapping out defective components to restore peak performance.

Parts & Documentation Sourcing the right replacement parts and keeping accurate service reports and maintenance records up to date.

Technical Guidance Interpreting technical drawings and manuals to carry out work correctly, and producing training materials or conducting equipment demonstrations when the need arises.

Customer & Team Support Offering technical assistance to clients and collaborating within a skilled technical team, while also being capable of working independently when required.

Safety & Compliance Upholding electrical safety standards and ensuring all work meets relevant regulations.
