Amazon Development Centre (South Africa) (Proprietary) Limited in Cape Town is hiring Software Development Engineers at all levels to contribute to the complete vertical stack of an SOA-based system.

Our SDEs work with Kotlin, Java, JavaScript and Ruby, and use AWS and in-house cloud technologies to build scalable web applications.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the complete vertical stack of an SOA based system.
• Code using Kotlin, Java, JavaScript and Ruby (RoR) and build on web technologies like HTML5, REST, and CSS.
• Define APIs and integrate them into usable interfaces.
• Troubleshoot and analyze performance and scalability across services.
