Job description

We are hiring a Social Media and Content Coordinator for our Marketing Team!

Department: Marketing

Reports To: Marketing Manager

Employment type: Full-time, on-site

About the role

The Social Media & Content Coordinator will act as the central content engine for our brand portfolio.

You will translate marketing strategies and campaign briefs into engaging, platform-specific content; manage organic social channels and communities; coordinate internal and outsourced content production; and use performance data to improve future activity.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who can move comfortably between content planning, content design and generation, short‑form video production, community engagement, supplier coordination and reporting.

Social media planning and management
  • Translate quarterly marketing strategies and campaign briefs into practical social media plans and content calendars.
  • Develop and manage organic content calendars across multiple brands and platforms.
  • Schedule, publish and optimise content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and other relevant channels.
  • Adapt content, messaging and formats for each platform while maintaining the identity and tone of each brand.
  • Maintain clear publishing schedules, approval processes and campaign deadlines.
  • Identify relevant platform trends and content opportunities that can be used in an authentic, brand‑appropriate way.
Content creation and production
  • Create engaging, social‑first content, including short‑form videos, graphics, carousels, stories, captions and other digital assets.
  • Turn briefs supplied by marketing team members into polished, platform‑ready content.
  • Plan and coordinate social‑first product, lifestyle and campaign shoots.
  • Develop clear creative and production briefs for agencies, freelancers, photographers, videographers and content creators.
  • Manage production schedules, feedback, approvals and final delivery.
  • Repurpose existing content effectively across brands, platforms and formats.
  • Collaborate with the Website and Paid Media Manager to produce and supply creative assets for paid digital campaigns, websites and other digital touchpoints.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging content formats, creative tools and social media best practices.
Community management
  • Monitor brand channels, comments, direct messages, mentions and relevant conversations daily.
  • Respond to routine enquiries and engage meaningfully with brand communities.
  • Escalate customer‑service, product or reputational matters to the appropriate internal team member.
  • Protect and consistently apply each brand’s tone of voice.
  • Identify proactive engagement opportunities with customers, creators and relevant communities.
  • Maintain clear escalation processes for sensitive or urgent matters.
  • Maintain an organised and accessible digital content library.
  • Manage internally created, outsourced and user‑generated content.
  • Apply consistent file naming, tagging, metadata and version‑control standards.
  • Maintain records of content usage rights, creator permissions and expiry dates where applicable.
  • Archive seasonal and historical content so that useful assets can easily be located and repurposed.
Reporting and optimisation
  • Own regular performance reporting for organic social media channels.
  • Track and interpret metrics such as reach, engagement, audience growth, video views, content performance, community responsiveness and traffic generated.
  • Identify the strongest and weakest‑performing content, formats and platforms.
  • Translate performance data into practical recommendations for future content.
  • Test new creative approaches, formats, posting schedules and messaging.
  • Share concise, commercially relevant insights with the wider marketing team.
Budget and administration
  • Track relevant content and social media expenditure against approved budgets and forecasts.
  • Record marketing expenditure accurately and timeously in accordance with company procedures.
  • Coordinate the submission and payment of invoices from creators, agencies and digital service providers.
  • Follow up with suppliers for quotations, statements and valid tax invoices.
  • Maintain accurate records of outsourced projects, commitments and approved expenditure.
Experience and qualifications
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in social media management, digital content creation, content marketing or a similar role.
  • A relevant qualification in marketing, communications, media, design or a related field is advantageous.
  • Demonstrable experience managing social media channels for brands or businesses.
  • Experience managing content across multiple brands or business units is strongly advantageous.
  • A portfolio showing examples of social media content, short‑form video, design, copywriting or campaigns that you have personally created or managed.
  • Experience coordinating agencies, freelancers, photographers, videographers or content creators.
  • Experience interpreting social media analytics and using performance insights to improve content.
  • Retail, consumer‑brand or e‑commerce experience would be advantageous.
Technical and creative skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn.
  • Proficiency in Canva and CapCut, or comparable content creation and video‑editing tools.
  • The ability to film and edit high‑quality social content using a smartphone.
  • Strong copywriting, proofreading and storytelling skills.
  • Working knowledge of Meta Business Suite and native platform scheduling and analytics tools.
  • Adobe Creative Cloud experience is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with social media scheduling, workflow or reporting platforms is advantageous.
  • A practical understanding of user‑generated content, content permissions and usage rights.
  • Highly organised and able to manage several brands, calendars and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Creative, curious and attentive to social and cultural trends.
  • Proactive and comfortable taking ownership of projects.
  • Commercially aware and able to connect content activity to broader marketing objectives.
  • Detail‑oriented, with strong quality‑control standards.
  • Comfortable receiving feedback and adapting creative work.
  • A collaborative communicator who can work effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Calm and professional when handling customer or community issues.
What success in this role looks like
  • Consistent, high‑quality content is published on time across priority brands.
  • Brand channels develop stronger, more engaged communities.
  • Content is clearly adapted to each platform rather than duplicated without consideration.
  • Marketing campaigns receive the required creative assets on schedule.
  • Performance reports provide useful insights and lead to measurable improvements.
  • Content libraries, permissions and production workflows remain organised and accessible.
  • Budgets, supplier documentation and payment administration are managed accurately.
