Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Information Security Analyst (SOC Level 2) in Polokwane, Limpopo. You will monitor SIEM alerts, investigate complex security events, and coordinate containment and eradication actions across the IT landscape.

The role requires 3–5 years in a SOC, strong incident response and forensic analysis skills, and relevant certifications. A proactive team environment and ongoing professional training are offered.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in a SOC environment, Level 2 or higher.
• Strong knowledge of SIEM, threat detection, and network security.
• Experience with incident response and forensic analysis.
• Certifications such as CompTIA CySA+, GSEC, or GCIH are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR sources.
• Analyze security incidents to determine scope, impact, and root cause.
• Conduct forensic analysis of breaches and produce incident reports.
• Develop and refine detection rules and use cases for monitoring tools.
• Respond to incidents following established containment and eradication procedures.
• Utilize threat intel feeds to identify emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with IT teams to implement remediation actions.
• Contribute to incident response playbooks and runbooks.
• Participate in security awareness initiatives and provide guidance.
• Stay updated on latest threats and defense techniques.
