Job summary

Discovery Health (KZN Service Team) Learnership for Long Term Insurance aims to provide a nationally recognised FETC: Long Term Insurance NQF Level 4. This programme is strictly for individuals living with a disability, combining structured learning with practical workplace experience in the Financial Services sector.

Learners will gain exposure to client servicing, claims, and health benefits administration within call centre and service channels, with emphasis on service quality and digital

Qualifications

• Grade 12 is essential.
• Maths (Minimum Level 4 – 50%).
• English (Minimum Level 4 – 50%).
• Maths Literacy (Minimum Level 5 – 60%).
• 2nd language (Minimum Level 4 – 50%).
• May have an incomplete tertiary qualification (advantage)

Responsibilities

• Servicing members via telephonic and other servicing channels until queries are resolved.
• Deliver customer-centric service and uphold service principles.
• Keep updated with product changes to ensure accurate servicing.
• Stay up-to-date with digital servicing tools and ensure understanding of functionality.
• Aim to achieve and exceed key performance metrics relating to service delivery.

Key Purpose of the role

This Learnership leads to a nationally recognised FETC: Long Term Insurance NQF Level 4 qualification; which consists of structured learning components combined with practical/workplace experience in the Financial Services industry. This programme is strictly for individuals living with a disability.

Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

• Long Term Insurance – Discovery Health:
• Learners will be given exposure to the long-Term Insurance business – client servicing, claims, business Intiatives and compliance.
• Call Centre : Medical Aid client servicing, claims, new business and health benefits administration.
• Successful candidates from the Learnership Program will be responsible for but not limited to the following job functions:
• Servicing all key stakeholders telephonically and via other servicing channels as required until the query has been resolved
• Servicing our members in a customer centric way to ensure that we live by our service principles
• Keeping up to date with product changes to ensure that all key stakeholders are accurately serviced
• Continuously staying abreast of all digital servicing tools within the business and ensuring that the functionality is fully understood
• Achieving and exceeding key performance metrics relating to service delivery.

Specific Requirements

• Not be currently engaged in post Matric studies (tertiary studies)
• Must not have any formal employment working experience (6 - 12 months experience in Part-time / temporary employment can be allowed)
• Not have completed any previous Learnership.
• Be between the ages of 18 and 25 years;
• Have effective communication skills in the written & verbal English language;
• Possess basic computer skills mainly MS Excel & MS Outlook
