Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is recruiting a Site Supervisor for Durban-based construction projects. You will supervise daily site activities, coordinate materials, and ensure safety and quality standards are met on site.

The role requires coordinating with project teams, monitoring subcontractors, and preparing progress reports. Overtime and travel may be required, with a focus on delivering projects on time and within specifications.

Qualifications

  • Higher Certificate or related qualification in construction management or engineering.
  • Matric with relevant field.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily site activities and operations to ensure the project is progressing as planned.
  • Monitor and manage the performance of on-site staff and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure safety standards and quality control are maintained.
  • Liaise with the Project Coordinators, Technical Teams, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Coordinate the delivery of materials and equipment to the site, ensuring that they are available when needed to avoid delays.
  • Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise on-site, escalating to the Project Team Leader as necessary.
  • Enforce adherence to all safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment for all site personnel.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions to promote a culture of safety on-site.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with local and company regulations.
  • Ensure that all work meets the required standards of quality as per the project specifications.
  • Conduct inspections and tests to verify the quality of work and materials used.
  • Document and report any deviations from the project plan or quality standards to the Project Coordinator.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, including progress reports, work logs, and incident reports.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on site progress, challenges, and any deviations from the project plan.
  • Assist the Project Coordinator in preparing and reviewing project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and work plans.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or weekends as required by the project schedule.
  • Travel may be required depending on the location of the project site.
