Job summary

Sulzer seeks an experienced Site Supervisor to oversee daily operations at the Sulzer Site within the Eskom Power Station perimeter. The role ensures safety, compliance with OHSA No.85/1993, and timely service of client accounts while upholding Sulzer policies.

You will manage site personnel, coordinate client meetings, and work with the field service manager to meet Eskom contract outcomes and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of supervisory experience.
• N6 Certificate or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Computer literacy - Windows, SAP and other necessary software.
• QESH knowledge and experience.
• PSR Authorization.
• Trade Test.
• Ability to complete reports: Friday/status/running hours.
• Customer satisfaction surveys.
• Sulzer compliance in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Manage site employees to ensure Eskom contract outcomes are met, including timekeeping and resource management.
• Work with client representatives and attend required meetings.
• Coordinate with field service manager and other site supervisors to achieve Eskom contract outcomes.
• Attend and participate in client and Sulzer meetings; take minutes and track actions.
• Handle site administration and safety documentation per OHSA No.85/1993 and standards.
• Maintain SHE file; inspect work to client SHE specs; prepare risk assessments.
• Ensure equipment, vehicles and certificates are up to date; ensure training/induction is completed.

This includes ensuring that the site is maintained to uphold the Sulzer brand image, comply with the OHSA No.85 of 1993 and Regulations, all accounts owed to the client are serviced and Sulzer specific policies are adhered to.Main Roles and Responsibilities:1. People Management - Manage the site employees to ensure that all outcomes of the Eskom contract are met. This is not limited to but includes time keeping, resource management, disciplinary action and succession planning.2. Client Interaction - Work closely with the client representatives of the various departments to meet the outcomes set out in the Eskom contract. This will include but is not limited to attending all required meetings as arranged by the client, setting up meetings for client-contractor interaction, written communication in the form of letters, spreadsheets and e-mails, telephonic communication and commercial engagements.3. Management Interaction - Work closely with the field service manager and other site supervisors to achieve the outcomes of the Eskom contract and other initiatives as instructed by senior management.4. Meetings - Attend and participate in all required meetings initiated by the Client, Sulzer Management and Subcontractors. Take minutes and be accountable for agreed actions. Initiate meetings with Subordinates, Subcontractors, Client and Sulzer Management for operational requirements.5. Site Administration - related to the daily operation of the site and employees. This will include but is not limited to:• Managing work time of all subordinates• Managing and maintaining good site establishment• Managing the use of and maintenance of all site related vehicles, tools and assets. and accountable for all safety related administration of the site as per the requirements of OHSA No.85 of 1993 and Regulations, OHSAS 9001, 14001 & 18001 and all Sulzer’s Safety Requirements.6.
