Job summary

Lyon and Partners seeks a Site Manager with strong High-Voltage Transmission line construction experience to join our team in South Africa. The role focuses on leading multi-disciplinary teams, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects meet time, budget, and safety requirements.

Ideal candidates will have 7–10 years of site management experience in HV transmission and NEC contract environments, with PM and OHS backgrounds. A 4x4 vehicle and site mobility are expected.

Qualifications

• PM and OHS certifications advantageous.
• Experience with high-voltage transmission line construction.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, coordination, and control of all transmission substation construction activities to ensure on-time delivery, budget adherence, and compliance with safety standards.
• Ensure smooth commissioning, coordinate outage bookings, and hand over documentation to Grid.

Key skills required

Preferred Experience

• Minimum 7-10 years site management experience in High-Voltage Transmission line construction preferably on Eskom Lines or Substations.

• Proven experience managing multi-disicplinary teams and contarctors.

• Experience in project scheduling, quality control, saftey compliance and contract administration on NEC Contracts.

Key Performance Area

• To provide overall leadership, coordination, and control of all transmission substation construction activities, ensuring successful delivery on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality, technical and safety standards.

• Ensure a smooth commissioning process, responsible for all outage bookings and do all documentation and handover to the Grid.
