Job summary

Lyon and Partners (Pty) Ltd seeks an experienced Site Manager for High-Voltage transmission line construction in Upington. The role requires leading transmission substation work, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met while delivering on schedule and within budget.

Ideal candidates bring 7–10 years of site management experience on HV lines or substations, with exposure to Eskom projects and NEC contract administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or civil engineering or related field.
• Project Management (PMP) and OHS certifications advantageous.
• Experience with NEC contracts is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership, coordination and control of all transmission substation construction activities to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with quality and safety standards.
• Oversee commissioning processes, manage outage bookings and handover documentation to Grid.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and contractors to meet project milestones and maintain compliance.

Key skills required:

Preferred Experience:

• Minimum 7-10 years site management experience in High-Voltage Transmission line construction preferably on Eskom Lines or Substations.
• Proven experience managing multi-disicplinary teams and contarctors.
• Experience in project scheduling, quality control, saftey compliance and contract administration on NEC Contracts.

Key Performance Area

• To provide overall leadership, coordination, and control of all transmission substation construction activities, ensuring successful delivery on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality, technical and safety standards.
• Ensure a smooth commissioning process, responsible for all outage bookings and do all documentation and handover to the Grid.
