Job summary

Recruitment Matters Africa (Pvt) Ltd is seeking an experienced Plant/Operations Manager for a leading manufacturing operation in Noordwes, South Africa. You will oversee daily plant activities, drive production targets, and lead a team to deliver consistent quality and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has a degree or diploma in Engineering or Operations Management, 5–8 years in plant management, and proven leadership within manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
• 5–8 years’ experience in plant/production/industrial management.
• Proven experience leading teams in manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily plant operations to meet production targets, productivity, efficiency, quality, and standards.
• Manage equipment, materials, workforce utilisation, and maintenance to maximise production and minimise downtime.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements while promoting a strong safety culture.
• Lead and develop employees and supervisors while managing client relationships, operational reporting, budgets, resources, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job description

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• 5–8 years’ experience in plant, production, or industrial management.
• Proven experience managing teams within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of production processes, maintenance planning, operational best practices, and health and safety requirements.

• Manage plant equipment, materials, workforce utilisation, and maintenance activities to maximise production and minimise downtime.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements while promoting a strong safety culture and addressing operational incidents.
• Lead and develop employees and supervisors while managing client relationships, operational reporting, budgets, resources, and continuous improvement initiatives.
