About the Role

Our client is a reputable construction company with a strong focus on developing high-quality residential and commercial properties throughout the Western Cape. We are seeking an experienced and diligent Site Foreman to lead and supervise construction activities on our various project sites in and around Paarl, Western Cape. This is a hands-on supervisory role that requires a deep understanding of building practices, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality. The Site Foreman will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of trades, ensuring work is performed according to plans and specifications, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment. You will play a key role in the successful execution of projects, directly contributing to the company's reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct all on-site construction personnel, including skilled tradespeople and laborers.
• Ensure that all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and building codes.
• Coordinate the scheduling and sequencing of different trade activities on site.
• Monitor the quality of workmanship, ensuring it meets the required standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized construction site, adhering to safety regulations.
• Manage on-site material delivery and inventory, ensuring adequate supplies are available.
• Identify potential site issues or hazards and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Communicate effectively with the Site Manager, Project Manager, and other stakeholders regarding site progress and challenges.
• Conduct daily site briefings and toolbox talks to ensure all team members are aware of tasks and safety protocols.
• Assist in enforcing company policies and procedures on site.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Foreman, Supervisor, or similar role in the construction industry.
• Solid understanding of residential and commercial construction methods, materials, and techniques.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices on construction sites.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work.
• Reliability and strong work ethic.
• Experience working in the Paarl area or similar South African contexts is beneficial.
• Valid driver's license is preferred.
