Job summary

Unitrade 745 (Pty) Ltd in Pretoria is seeking an experienced Site Foreman to lead a section of the construction site on a project expected to run until mid-2027. The role requires hands-on leadership, strict safety compliance, and effective communication with workers, engineers, and clients.

You will read construction drawings, track progress, conduct quality control, and ensure timely site reporting using the clocking system. A valid driver’s licence and reliable transport are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years' foreman or site foreman experience in the construction industry.
• Construction-specific experience.
• Strong practical understanding of site safety processes, procedures and disciplined compliance.
• Strong communication across workers and trades, engineers, client representatives and management.
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Hands-on quality control capability.
• Willingness to complete the client's psychometric assessment after interview.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and take responsibility for an allocated section and team on the project.
• Work closely with the other foremen and divide site responsibilities as the workforce grows.
• Maintain strict compliance with site safety processes and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with workers and trades, engineers, client representatives and management.
• Raise and elevate site issues promptly and transparently.
• Read and interpret construction drawings as required for the allocated work.
• Track programme and progress for the allocated work area.
• Carry out quality control within the allocated area.
• Complete required site reporting and use the site's mobile clocking system.

R25 000 - R30 000 CTC per month (negotiable depending on experience)

Project contract until completion, expected mid-2027

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 4 years' proven foreman or Site Foreman experience in the construction industry
• Construction-specific experience
• Strong practical understanding of site safety processes, procedures and disciplined compliance
• Strong communication across workers and trades, engineers, client representatives and management
• Accountability for assigned work and prompt, transparent escalation when problems arise
• Ability to handle pressure on a strict, high-expectation construction site
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport
• Able to move around a large construction site throughout the working day
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings
• Able to track programme and progress for the allocated work area
• Hands-on quality control capability
• Site reporting capability
• Willingness to complete the client's psychometric assessment after interview
• Able and willing to use the site's mobile clocking app
• Formal qualification is preferred but is not mandatory
